Welcome to my PHP blog. I started it in June 2009 and contains some of my dev notes and code snippets.
Who am I ?
I am Elvis Ciotti. I started coding when I was very young and I went ahead developing dynamic websites with LAMP after my first year at university. Web developing quickly became my passion and my freelance activity during university (IT, BSc + Msc).
I had lots of interesting experiences at university in developing lots of projects using C (list/tree/graph algorithms to solve complex problems), C++, C# and JAVA (artificial intelligence, J2EE web application and a XML message type system for JOLIE, a open source project for web services). I mainly work with PHP, probably the best for the industry and for development (high level language, growing faster, lots of tools and completely OOP).
I came to London in 2009 and started working for a industry lead company in affiliate marketing [links]. I’ve had an interesting experience in making a legacy system supporting the high traffic (500k visitors a day, top ten traffic website in the UK) and migrate all the logic to a framework, deal with performances, internationalisation of the site, moving to continuous integration and many other problems of startup companies. I led the architectural redesign and conversion of the high-traffic main site using Zend Framework, project successfully completed in spite of requirements changes, non-disruptive deployment challenges and strict timing for the market.
I’m currently working for BraveNewTalent.com, a startup company with an enormous potential: operating in the recruitment industry using a social network approach.
